Oslo

Hello everyone, this is Fluffy. I am Gregg & Chrissy's rescued Pyr from 2001. I am writing about my new friend, Oslo (formerly Bernie). After my long-time buddy Glacier went to Doggie Heaven, I was very depressed. Then we went to Marcy's to adopt a new friend. I helped pick out Bernie. He was renamed Oslo by Gregg & Chrissy.

Since he is nine years younger than me and much bigger than me, it took awhile for me to teach him the rules. He finally learned all I taught him. He actually finished third in his Obedience Class. I was so proud of him. Gregg & Chrissy like to take us to the local parks and to Lake Michigan. Oslo likes to walk fast and I like to take my time. This causes Gregg to have his arms stretched out in front and in back of him. But he loves all the attention we draw in public. As soon as we realize that he isn't going to work that day, we start our "take us somewhere campaign". Gregg & Chrissy usually have off different days so we get to go to the woods or the beach a lot. Oslo has taught me that going into the water can be fun, which has made Gregg very happy.

Since Oslo loves to play in the yard, I can relax while he chases the ball, plays rope or chases the local wildlife across the yard. Oslo & I would like to thank the Great Pyrenees Rescue for giving us another chance at finding a family. Hopefully someone reading this will be inspired to do the same for another Pyr. Enjoy the pictures. As you can see, we are having a great time. Take Care, Fluffy & Oslo.

Brutus

Brutus is such a smart dog for a Pyr. He has learned sit, down, bang, speak, hush, over, spin, come, crawl, stay on your spot, wait, walk nice... OK enough bragging. He is a joy to have. I want to train him up to be a good therapy dog but he is still too much of a puppy. Brutus is a bit prejudiced towards other dogs... he only likes Pyrs. He is the star pupil in puppy class because the biggest chalenge for the others is to down stay, and being a Pyr, Brutus is content to lay in one place all day. I can't imagine life without him. Thanks, GPRGC

James

James was confiscated with 42 other Pyrenees from a single home in Geneseo, IL, on February 14, 2006.

Hello GPRGC,

James has many new things in his life. His new name is Sam! His new roommate is Frazzle, our 12-year-old Chow/Lab mix. He loves car rides — lets go anywhere, NOW! He enjoys pontoon boat rides too. He had his teeth cleaned last week and had 4 broken and decayed teeth removed. He started obedience class yesterday, but is a bit shy with the other dogs. Friday he gets to go on a short motor home trip. It’s a ride!… and we’re all together!… so it must be great! He has met our granddaughter, age 2, twice. She is ok, but moves too much and too fast. Sam will show her the example of just flopping and resting. Sam does howl a bit at separation. Sometimes he howls in the middle of the night even though he is right there in the bedroom with all of us. Sam sure is a cuddly boy and we are sooo happy to have him!

Chumley

Chumley was confiscated with 42 other Pyrenees from a single home in Geneseo, IL, on February 14, 2006. Chumley is adjusting well. He is such a sweet dog! He had his first obedience class this past Monday. He was very independent and didn't like the repetition of sitting, standing, sitting, standing, sitting, standing. We are just crazy about him, and so is the whole family! Thanks again, Scott and Kim Chumley's brother, Erik
